The problem
Pulley only helps you move to Carta. Anywhere else, the move is yours: you export, you map the fields, you check the numbers. A cap table that's off by a few thousand shares looks fine until a lawyer compares it with the signed documents. And Pulley's export doesn't include those documents: they sit in its data room until you download them.
What to download from Pulley
- The cap table: Dashboard → Download Cap Table, with All time ticked (Pulley's guide).
- Every signed document: Company → Data Room → Download All.
- Your last 409A report and the board consents behind your option plan, if they aren't in the data room.
How the move works in Capfolder
- Open Import, keep Pulley selected and choose the file you downloaded.
- Check the column matching, then type in the totals from Pulley's dashboard. Fully diluted must match to the share before you can save.
- Drop your signed documents into Documents. Capfolder files each one against the cap table and lists what's missing.
- Work through Before you cancel Pulley on the cap table: it counts the days left.

What Capfolder checks for you
- Pulley's totals against Capfolder's: fully diluted (required), each share class, options outstanding, pool available, the SAFE total and stakeholders.
- Every row: unreadable dates, non-whole share counts, SAFEs without an amount, more vested than granted.
- Each grant's vesting so far against its schedule, within one share.
Where your data goes
It stays on your computer, as plain files in a folder you own. The import never uploads anything, and nobody can switch Capfolder off on you: it's open source, and the files open without it.
What it doesn't do yet
Capfolder can't log in to Pulley for you, and it doesn't do 409A valuations, employee logins or round modelling yet. See the roadmap and our full Pulley comparison.
Questions people ask
When does Pulley shut down?
Pulley's normal app and support end on December 8, 2026. Limited access to your data continues until January 31, 2027.
Do I have to move to Carta?
No. Carta is the only provider Pulley helps you move to, and the opt-in closes on November 30. You can move anywhere else yourself, for example by importing Pulley's export into Capfolder.
What should I download from Pulley?
The detailed cap table (Dashboard → Download Cap Table, All time) and every signed document (Company → Data Room → Download All). Download them again on your last day if anything changed.
How do I know nothing was lost in the move?
Capfolder won't save the import until its fully diluted total matches Pulley's to the share, and it checks every other total you type in from Pulley's dashboard.
